Pictures like this make me wish Photoshop and airbrushing were never created! I mean, there’s only so much makeup and bangs can do and these photos of Kirsten Dunst in Flare Magazine are obviously so much more. I can maybe understand the need to airbrush a few blotches and such (Don’t look at me like that, we’ve all used the “healing tool”) BUT why would you so blatantly alter someone’s features to the point that they don’t even look like themselves? This is what Kirsten Dunst looks like:
NOT this:
And certainly not this:
Pity because I love that Giambattista Valli skirt on her and I really think she would have rocked those bangs with her original face. As for the issue itself, Dunst talks about her battle with depression in 2008, saying ““I think that most human beings go through some sort of depression in their life. And if they don’t, I think that’s weird.” She also talks about her new movie “Melancholia” that I cannot wait for (only partly because of Alexander Skarksgard I promise.) So, what do you think about Kirsten Dunst’s pictures in Flare magazine, over-photoshopped or overreaction?

No you’re definitely right, Sheila, the photographer made her face and neck look thinner, you can tell by the right side of her neck in the b&w photo that the collar line is smudged to cover up the neck and make it look skinnier. She also has a round face, you can tell in the photographs that the shape has been altered. I could not tell that was Kristin Dunst when I first glanced at the cover.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Dee. I’m glad you can see what I saw. I read an article about banning photoshopped images. *crossed fingers*

I don’t think she looks much different. Her eyebrows and eyes are a dif color, and she’s making an evil face (maybe that’s her sexy look), but everything seems to be shaped the same.
If you just meant her skin, ehh.. maybe. But I’m probably just desensitized to that kinda thing. It only really bothers me if they airbrush skin in skincare ads. Also when they airbrush features into completely different shapes. And as a black woman, changing blacks’ skin color is the worst.

Her skin looks heavily airbrushed to me, but I’m a photographer, so I’m biased. ^_^
