Celebrity baby names run from the sublime to the ridiculous these days. It is always interesting to hear the latest celebrity child names. Sometimes celebrities give their children traditional names. Other times you run across a celebrity baby name that is a bit more obscure… I mean unique. While we may not understand the meaning behind some of these baby names it is still a lot of fun to read and talk about them.

Willa Lou

Willa Lou, born on December 27, 2011, is the second child to Keri Russell and Shane Deary. They also have a son together named River. This is one of the tamer celebrity baby names, although I wonder if it's a take on "Willow."

2

Georgia Geraldine

Georgia Geraldine, is the second daughter of Eric Dane, from Grey’s Anatomy, and wife Rebeca Gayheart. She was born on December 28, 2011. This isn't a bad name at all, but it is a bit old fashioned. However, all things considered, it's a solid baby name.

3

Ethel Mary

Now I’m not one to judge, but this celebrity baby name sounds more like the name of a celebrity’s grandmother. It's pretty old fashioned as well, at least the first name. Ethel Mary was born to Lily Allen and Sam Cooper on November 25, 2011. She is their first child.

4

Mason Evan

Ne-You and Monyetta Shaw had Mason Evan on October 9, 2011. With names like Ne-Yo and Monyetta, I was expecting a celebrity baby name with a little more piazza. However, I do like the sound of Mason Evan.

5

Gemma Rose

Kristin Davis, from "Sex and the City," recently adopted a little girl. She named her Gemma Rose. I love the name and think it is so sweet and elegant. "Gemma" is very pretty, and it sounds lovely with "Rose" -- which, incidentally, was the first name of Charlotte's adopted daughter, too!

Famous Quotes

Love is like a friendship caught on fire. In the beginning a flame, very pretty, often hot and fierce, but still only light and flickering. As love grows older, our hearts mature and our love becomes as coals, deep-burning and unquenchable.

Blue Ivy

Blue Ivy is the first child born to Beyonce and Jay-Z. While this celebrity baby name has been under some scrutiny in the media, I really like it. Blue Ivy was born on January 7, 2012. So far she's been one of the most talked about babies of the year, but it's still early!

7

Marcelo

This is one of the more solid celebrity baby names, too. It has a nice ring to it. Marcelo joined big sister Estela Ines and parents Ali Landry and Alejandro Monteverde on October 8, 2011. He weighed in at 8 pounds. What a big boy!

8

Arlo

While I am still surprised that Jackass star Johnny Knoxville is even able to create children after many of his stunts, I must say the name Arlo is very unique and refreshing. Arlo was born on October 6 and joins two siblings, Rocko Akira and Madison.

9

Hattie Margaret

On October 10, 2011 Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott welcomed Hattie Margaret. I find this celebrity baby name very delightful and fits well with the names of her brothers and sisters, Stella Doreen, Liam Aaron, and Jack.

While some celebrity baby names set a trend for names other leave us wondering, "What were they thinking?" What are some of your favorite celebrity child names? Tell me if any names on our list have inspired you in choosing a name for your baby.
