The SAG Awards Red Carpet is another opportunity to gawk over the latest awards season fashions. The red carpet looks from the SAG Awards also act as a bit of a teaser for the Oscars in late February. Like most other red carpets, there were hits and misses. Take a look at some of the best SAG Awards red carpet looks below.
The ‘Glee’ actor wore a stunning sequined gown by Reem Acra. The gown also featured a daring lace inset at the back. This modern take on the classic black gown definitely got my vote for being one of the best SAG Awards red carpet looks.
You don’t often see jumpsuits on the red carpet. But Rose Byrne worked this sequined Elie Saab quite well. The tailored leg and sequin finish made it much more red carpet appropriate than your ordinary jumpsuit.
White seem to be a popular colour for many of the red carpet looks from the SAG awards. Zoe Saldana looked radiant in a crystal studded Givenchy haute couture dress. She completed the look with diamonds from Tiffany & Co.
Black embellished dresses seemed to strike a chord with many starlets this year, and Emma Stone chose a midi length Alexander McQueen creation. The ankle strap heels completed the feminine look, and the knuckle-duster clutch was a playful detail.
Michelle Williams stood out from the crowd in a striking red Valentino gown. The dress had an asymmetrical hemline and featured lace inserts at the shoulder. She completed the look with a box clutch and matching red heels.
I really loved the vibrant emerald colour of this Oscar de la Renta dress worn by Emily Blunt. If anything though, I think the hairstyle could have done with a bit of tweaking – maybe some more volume?
Embellishments and metallics seemed to be key trends for many red carpet looks from the SAG awards. This ‘Glee’ starlet dazzled in an ice blue gown by Naeem Khan. The dress had a very simple cut which balanced out the drama of the embellishments quite well.
You can’t have a red carpet without the occasional princess dress, and Kaley Cuoco had the look down to a tee in this Romona Keveza ballgown.
White dresses seemed to be one of the favourite red carpet looks from the SAG awards. Viola Davis stepped out in this stunning Marchesa number with gold detailing at the bodice.
Sofia Vergara does love a show-stopping gown. Here she wore a bright pink Marchesa gown with a fan-effect bodice.
The SAG Awards red carpet was a mixed bag of modern silhouettes and classic gowns. Key trends, however, seemed to revolved around embellishments and metallics. What were your favourite red carpet looks from the SAG Awards?
