I figured if some of the biggest money making doctors in Hollywood had a favorite smoothie, it was worth me giving it a shot! Smoothies are a super snappy, simple way to get in tons of nutrition, vitamins and minerals. The key to making a grade A kind of smoothie is the combination of what ingredients you put in. These favorite smoothies of celebrity doctors are just perfect in terms of their nutritional profile, and did I mention they taste like a million bucks too? 1. The D0ctors' Guilt-Free Shake Weight Loss Shake
One of my favorite shows is The Doctors, and when looking for great smoothies of celebrity doctors, I turned to the show’s website first. One of my absolute favorite recipes on the website was The Doctors' famous Guilt-Free shake, which is filled with fiber, protein, antioxidants and even mood-boosting chocolate! Check out this recipe as a great way to start the day or even indulge guilt-free in the afternoons. It's also a pretty pink color, which is perfect for all us girls out there!
Ingredients:
¾ cup plain Greek yogurt
1 cup frozen raspberries
Splash of organic raspberry juice 1. 6 Oz Chopped Dark Chocolate
Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts, such as almonds or walnuts
Directions:
Blend the yogurt, frozen raspberries, organic raspberry juice, chopped dark chocolate. Add nuts to the top and enjoy!
Health Benefits:
Plain Greek yogurt contains two-times the amount of protein than regular yogurt, which helps satiate the appetite.
Raspberries are rich in antioxidants and high in fiber. Just 1 cup contains 8 grams of fiber.
Dark chocolate is rich in flavinoids, which help reduce cholesterol levels and the risk of blood clots.
Nuts such as almonds and walnuts contain monounsaturated fatty acids, which help curb appetite and lower the risk of heart disease and diabetes.

2. Dr. Sears' Favorite Smoothie Recipe
Here’s another tasty smoothie from The Doctors television show by Dr. Sears. This recipe sounds pretty tasty if you ask me, and it’s incredibly simple. I guess this proves that just because he’s a doctor, it doesn’t necessarily mean he spends hours with his blender like he does in the ER!
Ingredients:
1 cup rice milk (or soy, cow, almond)
1 scoop of chocolate flavored multi-nutrient protein powder
3 or 4 frozen strawberries
½ cup frozen blueberries

The best part is, you could have one half the recipe for breakfast and the rest for lunch!
Ingredients:
2 cups spinach
1/2 cucumber
1/4 head of celery
1/2 bunch parsley
1 bunch mint
3 carrots
2 apples
1/4 orange
1/4 lime
1/4 lemon
1/4 pineapple

5. Keri Glassman’s the Paradise Smoothie
This summer smoothie is perfect for a hot day, or anytime you need a hydrating energy boost! I absolutely love having smoothies in the summertime when it’s hot out. It’s the perfect time to get in some nutrition without eating anything hot and heavy. The Paradise Smoothie from Keri Glassman, my favorite Registered Dietitian, is also easy on the eyes, which kind of makes you feel prettier just by drinking it! It is also extremely healthy and slimming at the same time due to the protein and potassium in Greek yogurt, along with the digestive benefits found in the live and active probiotic cultures in the yogurt. The avocado adds a delicious creaminess and an extra boost of potassium, along with B vitamins. I’m thinking this would make a great beach time recipe, what about you?
Ingredients:
1 medium ripe peach, sliced
2 tbsp chopped Hass avocado
1/3 cup unsweetened frozen strawberries
3/4 cup fat-free plain yogurt
3 tbsp 100% pomegranate juice
1 tsp grapeseed oil
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Place all ingredients in a blender. Puree about 15 seconds or until smooth. Pour into a tall glass and serve with a tall straw.

One of my favorite magazines always has been and always will be Shape Magazine. It may be a fitness based magazine, but the recipes in the magazine are so tasty. I always end up clipping and saving recipes and posting them to my fridge so I don’t forget to make them. For example, this Orange Creamsicle smoothie by the magazine’s staff doctor, Dr. Mike Roussel, is absolutely divine! You really feel like you’re drinking an Orange Creamsicle with this one, girl. It is perfectly filling and satisfying due to the protein and contains plenty of Vitamin C for your immunity and detox organs. You won’t believe the ingredients either! Give it a try and you’ll soon become a fan yourself!
Ingredients:
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 orange
1/4 orange peel
2 Tbsp Walnuts
2 Tbsp flaxseed meal
1 cup cottage cheese
1 1/2 cups water
3 ice cubes
