8 Intriguing Facts about Ryan Gosling ...

I bet no one really doubts Ryan Gosling’s various talents and the fact that he can play a guitar comes as no surprise. Actually, he started a band with his friend Zach Shields called Dead Man's Bones. Their first album, Dead Man's Bones, was released in 2009. Gosling performs under the alias "Baby Goose." This is one of my own favorite facts about Ryan Gosling.

Every girl who is fan of ‘The Notebook’ (and by fan, I really mean every girl who has watched the movie) envied the beautiful actress Rachel McAdams who used to date Gosling for quite a while. (I know I definitely did envy her!) Interestingly enough, they were both born in St. Joseph's Hospital in London, Ontario, though he is younger by 2 years.

This intriguing fact about Ryan Gosling might not be very believable for many of his fans considering how hard he tries to keep his personal life private and away from the paparazzi. "Trouble" is not something we currently associate with Gosling. However, there is a reason why Ryan is who he is now. His solitude is largely due to his wild childhood when he got the nickname ‘Trouble.’

Well, having mentioned his childhood, it’s time to comment on his adolescence as well. It comes as no surprise to us that Gosling prefers solitude while not working. This interesting fact about him is attributed to his autonomous latter childhood. And we have to admit here that this is actually one of the reasons many of us like him so much.

In 2005, Ryan traveled to Chad which borders with the troubling Darfur area. He wanted to make a documentary on the refugees there. This little known fact is actually not as exploited by the press as it is usually the case with celebrities visiting troubling areas across the globe. Again, Ryan’s ability to keep the focus on his work and not on his personal life is what makes him so captivating and intriguing.

Though not the first choice for the main character (first choice was another hottie – Hugh Jackman), Ryan totally killed the role of the mysterious Hollywood stuntman, mechanic and getaway driver who lands himself in trouble when he helps out his neighbour (played by Carey Mulligan). Critics and fans were ecstatic with Ryan‘s performance. We all know that Gosling goes through extensive preparation for each of his roles and that‘s why we are fans, but in preparation for this role in particular, he went the extra mile and restored the 1973 Chevy Malibu that his character uses in the film.

It‘s a well-known fact that Ryan‘s first break came in January 1993 when open auditions were held in Montreal for "The All New Mickey Mouse Club" (1989). But what‘s intriguing is that he beat up about 17,000 other talented kids for a spot in the program! What's even more interesting is that at that time he was the only Mickey Mouse Club cast member that didn't live in the same complex as all the other cast members and their families. He and his family lived in a nearby trailer park and he was the family's only source of income.

Hold your horses, girls! We know Ryan is a perfect gentleman who would never do that to a woman in real life. The fact is that he pulled Dunst‘s hair while filming the movie "All Good Things." He felt so bad about the scene, he sent her flowers the day after. Isn’t that lovely? I wish all men were that sweet!
