8 Favourite 'South Park' Celebrity Targets ...

Cruise was once quite a decent actor, but left himself open to ridicule with his infamous Oprah appearance (what was he thinking? Actually, he probably wasn’t thinking at all). So an unwanted guest slot on South Park was inevitable – and he didn’t get off lightly. He's definitely a favourite South Park celebrity target.

There is something so gloriously mad about the diva being turned into a Godzilla-like creature. Mecha-Streisand made her (its?) debut in the first season, and wreaked havoc before being revived many years later. Perhaps all the more effective for being used sparingly.

I cheered. Yes, Bieber fans – if there are any here – I cheered when Cartman brought about the end of the irritating teen ‘sensation.’ I stand by my assertion that this was possibly one of the finest moments ever to be seen on TV, and on its own justifies the existence of South Park.

It can surely be only a matter of time before the public meltdowns of Charlie Sheen make its way into a South Park episode. Until then, Mr Gibson amply fills the part of best celebrity nutter. With his less than charming behaviour he really was asking for it … no wonder he's another favourite South Park celebrity target.

I’m sure a lot of people never found the late dictator very amusing, but ridicule can be quite a potent weapon. Anyway, the idea of him being in a relationship with none other than Satan (and Saddam being the bossy one) is delightfully twisted. Check out this song-and-dance routine …

Ever thought that Sarah Jessica Parker has a rather long face? South Park obviously does, since they lampooned her as a 'transvestite donkey witch' (I'm not exactly sure what that is, but it does make a weird kind of sense). Eagle-eyed readers will notice (or would, if I hadn't already pointed it out) that Parker's dress in the clip is drawn from the one she wore for this year's Oscar ceremony. She's probably glad she didn't do a Bjork ...

Not a believer in Al Gore’s stance on global warming? Then you’ll probably love how South Park lampoons his attempts to warn the world about the existence of the dangerous creature ‘ManBearPig’ – a cross between, yes, a man, a bear and a pig. Of course nobody believes him …

Now, who would believe that Russell Crowe enjoys a fight? This portrayal of the Gladiator star is clearly an outrageous lie as he features in his own programme-within-a-programme, punching his way around the world… No wonder he's a favourite South Park celebrity target too.

So many celebrities have been lampooned in South Park that I could only pick out a few of my favourite South Park celebrity targets. There’s also Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, the cast of Jersey Shore … okay, that might be stretching the definition of celebrity a bit far.
