I absolutely adore Lauren Conrad! She went from reality TV teenager, to a real women's role model almost seamlessly. Now 26 years old, Lauren Conrad is doing more in her life than most other reality TV starlets after their shows ended. If you don't already know of all the things Lauren is up to these days, then read on to learn the 7 reasons why you should love Lauren Conrad!
Lauren Conrad released her first novel, "L.A. Candy," in 2009, which she said was inspired by her personal life. The book was one of a trilogy series about a young woman who moves to Hollywood, works at an events company, and eventually gets her own reality show. The novel became a New York Times bestseller and the rights for the trilogy were recently purchased to turn the series into a movie with Conrad serving as an executive producer. I guess we should add being a big time Hollywood producer to this list of reasons to love Lauren Conrad, too! The book is a young-adult novel but it is a great girly novel that gives us all a first hand perspective of the life of a reality TV starlet.
Lauren Conrad's website (laurenconrad.com) is a reason to love her on its own. What I especially love are her DIY projects! She has step by step picture directions or video tutorials for everything, from cooking recipes to decorating. You can find enough fun and low cost projects to do on her site alone that you wouldn't even need to use Pinterest! Now that is saying a lot!
Lauren Conrad has put out two books dedicated to giving style and beauty tips for women. Lauren covers everything you need to know to maximize your own beauty potential, from the tips and tricks she's learned from working with the pros. Her personal anecdotes and illustrated step-by-step lessons for style, makeup, hair, and nails will have you looking great for day or night! She also has a "wear" and "primp" category on her website (laurenconrad.com) that gives even more free tips on style and beauty.
If you haven't seen it already, Lauren Conrad has her own clothing line that is sold in Kohl's stores. Her line is a contemporary, feminine collection of clothing, shoes, and accessories for fashion-conscious young women. Lauren's collection incorporates delicate details like lace and ruffles with tailored, updated classics to offer you an entire wardrobe of fun and flirty pieces for any occasion! Enjoy playful, standout style for both casual and dressier looks. I mean, she did famously work for Teen Vogue on her reality show "The Hills," so I think she knows how to style young women!
When I was younger, I was obsessed with Laguna Beach and The Hills because I personally connected with Lauren Conrad on the show. She was the pretty quiet girl, with lots of friends, chasing the boy who liked the hot bitchy girl. You were always rooting for Lauren to come out on top because she was such a sincere and nice girl on the show. Most girls out there connected with her over the other characters because of this. I mean, unless you got to be that one hot bitchy girl in high school, in which case you probably liked Kristin Cavallari more.
On her blog, she has made numerous posts about her dogs and the importance of adopting from a shelter. Whereas many rich and famous people go out and buy expensive designer dogs, Lauren Conrad is helping out abandoned dogs that need homes the most. She recently adopted a new puppy to befriend the dog she's had for three years. She is constantly posting adorable photos of them together. She's even had a pet spotlight blog post where she shared her favorite fan stories of their pet adoptions.
Lauren Conrad seems to have a great sense of humor. A perfect example of this was that she starred as voice talent on an episode of Family Guy playing herself. During the episode she made fun of the fact that everyone thinks she is stupid and boring by pretending to be a super smart version of herself. She has also been posting humorous Instagram photos like "dog shaming" her new puppy for chewing her shoes. She just seems like she would be an amazing friend to hang out with!
With all of the really terrible celebrity role models out there, it's amazing to know that there's at least one you can aspire to be like. Lauren Conrad has become a successful fashion designer, author, and blogger since her days as an MTV reality star and she doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon. Do you love Lauren Conrad, too, and if so, why? Who is your other favorite celebrity role model?
