The Highest Earning Celebrities of 2010: A Look Back at the Year's Top Earners
By Yusuf • Dec 27, 2010 MD

The holidays are always a season for sharing, and in 2010, this elite list of highest earning celebrities certainly had plenty to share! Forbes released their annual report, and while some names were expected, others were quite surprising. Let's look back at the 2010 celebrities who dominated the bank accounts and the headlines.

I'll skip the suspense and move directly to the second-highest earner, because let’s face it: no one gets points for guessing who took the top spot. Oprah Winfrey continued her reign with an incredible $315 million. While Avatar's other-worldly experience thrilled audiences worldwide, James Cameron's thrill was of a totally different kind. The director with the magic touch rose to the second position with $210 million in earnings.

Interestingly enough, the third position belongs to filmmaker Tyler Perry, who ended up with $125 million. While the rest of the list continues with a few more "ahhs" and "I thought as much," the last entry in the top 20 was a real surprise at the time.

| Rank | Celebrity | Estimated Earnings | | --- | --- | --- | | 1 | Oprah | $315 Million | | 2 | James Cameron | $210 Million | | 3 | Tyler Perry | $125 Million | | 4 | Michael Bay | $120 Million | | 5 | Tiger Woods | $105 Million |

The variety of industries represented in the top earners of 2010 shows just how diverse the landscape of fame was:

  • Directors and Filmmakers
  • Musicians and Pop Icons
  • Talk Show Hosts
  • Athletes
