9 Reasons Why Emma Watson is Awesome ...

1. Harry Potter, Duh

Above all else, one of the main reasons why Emma Watson is awesome is because of Harry Potter. Even more awesome is the fact that she’s fully aware and completely appreciative of this fact. Playing Hermione Granger has helped Emma find her sense of self, and instilled in her all the things we love about one of our favourite fictional characters ever. Harry Potter defined a generation, and we’ll never get sick of it. Emma is just like us, because she loves it too!

2. Her Awesome Sense of Style

I love, love, love Emma’s sense of style. So much so that I have an entire Tumblr account dedicated to that. The fashion world seems to agree with me that her fashion sense is one of the main reasons why Emma Watson is awesome, so much so that she was the youngest actress ever to appear on the cover of Teen Vogue. Then there’s also her stint with Burberry and how she’s ended up on countless best-dressed lists out there!

3. She’s Truly Talented

With the monumental success of the Harry Potter films, it’s hard for every one of those actors to be seen in a role other than what we’ve seen them in for 8 films. But Emma’s ability to push outside her breakthrough role is reason enough to see why Emma Watson is awesome. She’s shown us her ability to put on an American accent (Perks Of A Wallflower), showed us her comedic side (This Is The End), and now we’ll see her acting along Oscar winners Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly in Noah. Here’s to a long and wonderful career Em!

4. She Understands the Importance of Education

Our favourite British import once said this “I was very well educated. My dad paid me to go to a very good school but, you know, when my parents divorced, we didn’t have any money for a while. My birthday present was my school uniform and my pencil cases. I think that’s one of the reason why my education means so much to me. It’s because my dad really couldn’t afford to send me to this school. At the time we just didn’t have the money. And so I worked hard every single day that I was at that school to make him proud of me and for him to know that I appreciated it. And I do, and I still do.” This is why Emma Watson is awesome.

5. She Was Born in Paris

Another reason on the list of why Emma Watson is awesome – she lived in France until she was 5, and speaks French too. Yes, that’s pretty wicked in my eyes!

6. Her Dedication to Fair Trade

Emma has collaborated extensively with the fair trade clothing company Free People, and even let us in to her travels to Bangladesh, showing us the state in which they live, and just how important it is for us to support this initiative. I think it's incredible for her to lend her voice and platform to such a worthy cause. That ladies and gents, is another point on the list of reasons why Emma Watson is awesome.

7. She’s Totally down to Earth

You never, ever hear stories about how she’s gone crazy and awry with those common child stars stories. She doesn’t let her success get to her head, and she seems truly grounded. One of the reasons why Emma Watson is awesome in my eyes is due to her incredibly ‘normal’ life. Of course, life will never be normal for a celebrity, but she seems to have a good balance going on, and is legitimately good at being famous.

8. She’s a Scuba Diver

She has a PADI certificate, which means she’s certified to scuba dive anywhere in the world. Now I don’t know about you, but to me, scuba diving isn’t exactly the easiest thing in the world. But it is a pretty incredible thing to be able to do! It’s not an easy thing to accomplish either. Being able to do that is another one of the reasons why Emma Watson is awesome!

9. She’s Not Afraid to Get Her Hands Dirty

This girl plays a ton of sports, field hockey, swimming, ballet, soccer, she’s not afraid to get down and dirty and have a good time. She’s a tomboy, and I love that about her. This is just another thing on the list of reasons why Emma Watson is awesome!

Miss Watson is one of my favourite actresses, and I truly believe that she’s going to have a long and wonderful career! So I may be a little biased because I think she’s super awesome, but at the end of the day I do think she’s an pretty good choice of a role model for girls everywhere.
